Unfinished Business: Children and the Churches

Are we quick to react angrily when children are abused or mistreated, but slow to create safe communities in which they can grow and flourish?

The Consultative Group on Ministry among Children issued two earlier reports on The Child in the Church and Understanding Christian Nurture which were much used and appreciated. There still remains however much Unfinished Business concerning Children and the Churches which this new report explores.  It is all about children – those who have an involvement in church life and the majority who effectively have no contact at all with it.  How can the churches work with and for all children?  How can churches become ‘child-friendly’ with in their own premises and within society?

Unfinished Business offers insights and encouragement to help people in the churches to

  • explore what it means to be a child today
  • promote the place of children in the churches’ life and worship
  • act as an advocate with and on behalf of children.

  1. You are doing a good work. I am a pastor interested in children’s ministry and I would like to participate in your future events.
